Something I noticed... Old 78's were packaged in with a front and a back cover and then several bound record holding sleeves in the middle. To my thinking this is a spin off on book publishing, in that it was the model of how to think about publishing this then new media. Then look at how 33's are published as record sleeves that eventually become works of art on their own with, at times, no information about the album there-in. So the question that I am asking myself is, in this stage of the internet, where we are still in the infancy of the web, what has shaped how we publish and create web pages. In many ways, web 2.0 has answered some of that in that pages are moving away from being 1 dimensional, 1 direction mouthpieces to a place that acts as a hub for links and feeds. But this is only where we are now, there is a great deal to yet develop, the question I am asking is, once we get over one way models of information what will webpages become? What are the dynamics of interactive, just think of the many ways in which conversations are held; over the phone it is purely audio, in person it is about body language and chemistry. How will webpages go from being solely audio and visual pastiche to organisms that react to and interact with us in the way we do when we have a face to face conversation? (Not to say there aren't all ready hints of it, but there is a long road to travel)
